Contest Winners at the Hayner
The “Catch The Glow at the Hayner” pumpkin carving contest held on October 22 on the front lawn of the Hayner received rave reviews from the participants, attendees and a great number of individuals and families who stopped by the event to enjoy the glow of over 50 pumpkins. The event was considered a success with over 800 people viewing the artistically carved creations during the 3 hour display of glowing Jack- O-Lanterns, complimented by fall decorations provided by the event sponsor, Fulton Farms.
The Honorable Mayor of Troy and his wife, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Beamish and Linda Lee Jolly, Director of The Troy Hayner Cultural Center, judged the carving contest.
Ribbons were awarded to the top carvers in the following categories:

2011 Non-Profit Carving Award:

The evening also featured additional activities including low light house tours, creative art activities in the studio and a children’s theater presentation of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”; all offered free of charge to the community.
